We have a very horizontal building design. Each living area is set up on one floor. The room you live in, the dining room, activity programs, and access to the outdoors is all on one level.
We have two full time kinesiologists on staff. They facilitate our Functional Abilities programs. They do an initial assessment of each resident and will work one on one with each resident for up to four weeks if a need is determined. Group exercises and specialty classes are also provided by these staff.
There is access to your own outdoor patio from almost all rooms on the Main Floor Retirement. The Supportive Care Floor also has a lovely outdoor patio for residents to enjoy.
Winston Park has a specialty in caring for residents with dementia. The Retirement has a secured unit for those residents in the early to mid stages of their care needs.
Winston Park has a full continuum of care to provide services for residents in apartment living, supported retirement, early dementia care as well as having a fully licensed Long Term Care, one of which is secured.
This is not a concern as Winston Park has three in-house doctors to provide medical care.
Winston Park has five levels of care. We work with residents and their families to ensure we can arrange for the care that you need.
There are registered staff in each of our areas 24 hours per day, seven days per week. There is always registered staff on call for any additional supports required. Our doctors have a call system set up to provide us with the same coverage.
As part of our regular service, at no extra charge, we are happy to administer your medications.
We have recreation staff scheduled 7 days and 6 evenings weekly. You may choose from programs offered at Winston Park as well as many outing in the community on a monthly basis.
We welcome all visitors to Winston Park and can provide you with many options. They are welcome to join you in the dining room you usually partake of your meals or you may wish to book one of several other rooms (at no charge). We ask that you book in advance so we can provide you with the best service possible. For those extra special events you may wish to do your own cooking, bring in an outside caterer or have us cater the event.
We sign an agreement of occupancy and ask for 30 days notice if you have a change in living requirements. In the event of death or a move to a Long Term Care Facility payment stops when the room has been made vacant to us. No further notice is required.
Yes! We are happy to supply a bed and the rest of the room is yours to furnish as you wish. This makes each room very personalized and usually people have more than enough to furnish their room to their own liking. You can bring things that are important to you and encouraged to make it your home. You may hang pictures on the walls and decorate as you wish. We also supply all the linens and window coverings.
If you have any questions that have not been answered we would be happy to do so. Please contact Barb Sutcliffe, RN., BA @ mailto:/bsutcliffe@winstonpark.net
